What is Egg Donation?

Egg Donation (also called ovum donation or oocyte donation) is a procedure, as part of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) with a third party involved. Egg Donation can be used as an effective treatment for infertility in cases when the ovaries do not produce enough of their own eggs (due to developmental anomalies, functional insufficiency, premature exhaustion of functional ovaries, or menopause), and in cases of repeated unsuccessful in vitro fertilization (IVF) due to a poor embryo quality.

How is the Egg Donation procedure done?

In egg donation, eggs are obtained from a woman (less than 35 years of age) called the donor, who has given her consent. These eggs are then fertilized with the sperm of the woman's male partner and the resultant embryo is inserted into the infertile women's womb. In case of poor quality sperm, the eggs can be fertilized by the process called intro cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).

Fertility Egg Donation overseas Program at Nadiya fertility centre.

Nadya's staff will coordinate the cycles of the donor and recipient to perform a fresh embryo transfer. Synchronization of cycles includes using a series of medications to develop a generous uterine environment for the transfer of embryos. Before egg donation, the donor undergoes ovarian stimulation to generate multiple eggs. During egg retrieval, she is given a short-acting anesthesia and the oocytes are removed from inside the vagina without cutting the abdomen. After the oocytes have been successfully obtained, the procedure of the egg donor is complete.
Egg donor program is anonymous at Nadiya. The recipient is given the family and health profile to review: nationality, weight, height, colour of eyes and hair, education, presence of family and children as well as blood type.
According to the recommendations of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) the donor should be under 35 years of age with exceptional physical and mental health. Donor will undergo complete evaluation for heart problems, kidney disease, mental disability, and alcoholism or drug abuse.
Nadiya clinic has their own pool of egg donors. Do not waste time and money on egg donor agencies abroad - Nadiya fertility specialists do it all instead.

What is the age limit of the eggs recipient?

Nadiya has no very restrictive upper age limit of the recipient woman. Unless exceptional circumstances, the desirable age of the recipient for egg donation should be no older than 50 years.
